Let’s Move, Manitoba!
The days are getting shorter and the temperatures are certainly dropping, but that doesn’t mean the fun should stop! The Jack Frost Challenge is back again, making it the ninth year in a row Green Action Centre is getting Manitobans outside and active in winter.
Many people see winter as the time to hibernate indoors, which has serious mental and physical health consequences. Studies show that children play less, older adults walk outdoors less, and people, in general, are less physically active in winter.
The Jack Frost Challenge aims to combat the winter blues, which are especially blue in Manitoba. We have a tough winter, which makes us tougher.
Who is up for the Challenge?
The Jack Frost Challenge is a free, week-long challenge for ALL Manitobans.
Gather a team of 1-5 family members, friends, or co-workers to complete 130 collective kilometres of outdoor activities. This could include walking, running, biking, skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and more!
