WASTE REDUCTION

Composting

Whether you’re looking for resources to help you make your own compost or have someone else process it for you, our composting team is here to help make it as easy as possible for you to divert your food waste from the landfill.

Approx. 40% of landfill waste is organic material. The problem with this is that once in the landfill this organic waste doesn’t have enough oxygen to compost. Instead, it produces methane – an incredibly potent greenhouse gas.

The solution to this problem is ensuring that food waste stays out of the landfill through various composting methods. You can find a wide range of composting information, resources, tools, and links on this page
