FAQs

What's the difference between Jack Frost Challenge for Kids and registering through the main Jack Frost Challenge Event

Jack Frost Challenge for Kids is specifically intended for kids under 14 years of age. Although associated with the larger Jack Frost Challenge, Jack Frost Challenge for Kids is run by our Active and Safe Routes to School team, and people signing up for the kid’s challenge receive information about bonus activities and events.

Can I register as an individual?

Yes! Create your free Go Manitoba account, and all kilometres you log during JFC will automatically be added to your individual profile.

How do I track my kilometres?

Starting during Jack Frost Challenge 2025, all kilometres are tracked automatically through our Go Manitoba platform. Create a free account at www.gomb.ca, and your kilometres will automatically be logged during the timeline of the challenge.

How many kilometers of activity do I need during the week? Is 130km the minimum?

The 130 kilometre goal is a collective goal for your team/yourself to strive towards, but it is not a minimum. Even logging a few activities throughout the week will qualify you for participation prizes, or if you meet 26km during the challenge, you will be eligible for the grand prize(s). Get outside and have fun – there are no requirements to reach a minimum.

Can any group of individuals sign up as a team?

Yes, any group can sign up! Friends, families, co-workers, classmates, etc.

Typically, the challenge encourages teams of 1-5 people, however, we can accommodate larger groups as well.

How can a workplace register their team and input combined kilometres?

Workplace Coordinators are structured differently as of 2025. Please reach out to gohappy@greenactioncentre.ca to discuss how you can become a Go Manitoba network partner in support of the Jack Frost Challenge for your workplace.

Can I participate even if I don't live in Winnipeg or Manitoba?

This is a challenge for ALL Manitobans to take part in. Smaller events during the week are centered in Winnipeg. While participants outside of Manitoba CAN create a Go Manitoba Account and log their kilometres, please keep in mind the prizes are geared towards Manitoba businesses. Not all carpool functions of the platform may work.

How can I support Green Action Centre through my participation?

Green Action Centre supports program-focused donations through Canada Helps.org. Please see the “donate now” button in the webpage header. Businesses or other organizations looking to make an in-kind or financial contribution can contact us at challenge@greenactioncentre.ca for current sponsorship packages.  Thank you for your support!
