Manitoba’s Climate Action Team presents… Get Moving on Climate!
A Transportation Event

A message from Manitoba’s Climate Action Team:
Thursday April 12

It is with regret that we have decided to postpone our Get Moving on Climate event tomorrow.

Gosh, have things changed in the last few days – and especially the last 12 hours.

We need to be cautious and responsible about not spreading the coronavirus. Manitoba Health guidelines are now suggesting 2m physical social distancing. This isn’t possible for our event as planned.

This morning, the province announced its first presumptive case of COVID-19. It is becoming increasingly doubtful that people will want to attend our event, as people are changing their behaviour in response to this sudden news. One of our members tried to buy disinfectant for our event this morning but several stores were sold out.

We are executing an alternative, electronic approach to sharing the workshop presentations with people in the interim as we feel this climate related information is vital. This will enable us to reach more people and get more feedback.

Sorry about this. And thanks for your understanding.”

Exploring the question of…

How can we transport people and goods without the use of fossil fuels?

Join local experts in breakout sessions to discuss:

  • Active transportation
  • Public transit
  • Goods transportation
  • Inter-city and rural transit
  • Ride and car sharing
  • Electrification and automation

Learn what policies need to be implemented to build a resilient future for Manitobans in the climate emergency! We’ll talk about what these transportation systems look like in Manitoba and explore how they’ll help us meet emissions targets for a zero-carbon future.

Light snacks and coffee will be provided.

Concerned about accessibility? We are too! Please call 204-942-9292 or email with any questions or concerns.
