Frolic in the snow and celebrate winter Manitoba-style! Sign up a team of 1-5 people to skate, bike, ski, snowshoe, run or walk a combined total of 130 km the week of February 9-15, 2013. (See poster here.)

Gather your co-workers, family, friends or classmates. Then glide, swish, pedal and crunch your way across the snow to be entered for ‘cool’ prizes. To work, to school, to the grocery store or just for fun, it doesn’t matter! For inspiration, check out stories from the 2012 Jack Frost Challenge!

Winnipeg participants can make Friday, February 15, their day to bike and double the fun by also signing up for the first ever Winter Bike to Work Day. And pedal, skate, ski, snowshoe, run or walk along The River Trail between 7:00-9:00 that morning for hot bevies and cool pit stops as part of Ice It To Work Day. (Check out our Photo Wall of Fame from last year.)

Cap off Bougeons en hiver: The Jack Frost Challenge! by cheering on the participants of Actif Epica, a gruelling 130 km winter bike ride across the prairies starting from St. Malo on February 16th during Festival Des Amis.

Celebrate human resilience with the hardy Actif Epica participants on Saturday, February 16th, as they stop at warm checkpoints in the communities of St.-Pierre-Jolys, Otterburne, Niverville and St. Adolphe before arriving at the Festival du Voyageur in Winnipeg.

Thanks to Councillor Jenny Gerbasi and Councillor Brian Mayes for their financial support, and to our prize donors – Mountain Equipment Co-op, FortWhye Alive! and Festival du Voyageur.
