What does being a green voice for change mean? Well, while Kermit the Frog sings (croaks? ribbits?), “It’s not easy being green”, Green Action Centre would say, hang on Kermie, it’s easier than you think!
For 30 years, we have been committed to being a green voice in Manitoba. With your support, Green Action Centre carries environmental messages to decision-makers at all levels of government; we participate in consultations on environmental programs, and when we can, we stand before regulatory and legislative bodies to urge sustainable solutions on energy, climate change, and waste reduction. This means your support affects change, locally and provincially.
We also reach out to people like you with practical green living solutions so that together we can make a larger impact. Green Action Centre is proud to help children walk and bike safely to school, to teach and encourage families to compost, to provide educators with classroom-ready environmental learning activities, to advocate for waste reduction and sustainable living by actively commuting, and so much more.
One of the projects we are working on is a commercial compost pick-up service. Compost Winnipeg is a social enterprise initiative where Green Action Centre collects compost from local businesses over a 4-month period while developing a sustainable full-time business. Your donation helps us to grow this business.
The Great Canadian Giving Challenge is a national contest to benefit registered Canadian charities, like Green Action Centre. Every dollar that you donate to Green Action Centre via this link automatically enters us to win a $10,000 donation, provided by The GIV3 Foundation. But wait, there’s more! All is takes is a minimum $3 donation to Green Action Centre (less than a cup of coffee), and your generosity qualifies us. Every dollar after that is considered another entry for us the $10K. The more you give, the more chances we have to win! And of course, for every donation over $10, you will be provided with a tax receipt.
