Today, our coalition Cosmetic Pesticide Ban Manitoba delivered letters and a petition supported by over 1000 people to Conservation and Water Stewardship Minister Gordon Mackintosh calling for a ban on the sale and use of cosmetic pesticides in Manitoba. We are one step closer towards our goal of reducing the unnecessary and dangerous toxic load imposed by cosmetic pesticides on the environment, our health and our children.

The pressure for a ban on cosmetic pesticide is growing. Media reports that a ban in some form has been “all but confirmed“. However, we need your support more than ever if the ban is to be effective. Weak regulations will be a step backwards. We need you to support us in making Manitoba a national leader in effective cosmetic pesticide regulation.
Three ways to help out:
-
Sign our petition and pass the word on to others.
- Write your own letter or comments to the government consultation.
- Call your MLA to let them know you support a strong ban on cosmetic pesticides.
Together we will succeed!
This is my first time we visit here. I came across so many entertaining stuff with your blog, particularly its conversation. From the plenty of comments in your posts, I guess I am not on your own having all of the enjoyment the following! Keep up the superb work.
help i am surrounded by many large chemical farmers. i try to farm as much land as i can organically but have limited resources.the agricultural usage of pesticides should be banned ,these chemical companies do not have our best interests at heart. our communities would also benefit from a ban as we would need more farmers to farm the same amount of land bringing our rural population back to more normal numbers.this is our food that is being poisoned,we need to support our organic farmers so it does not continue.
Bonjour
I agree cosmetic pesticides should be banned. Why not include agricultural usage as well?
