Are you passionate about waste reduction? Ready to use your knowledge of recycling and composting to help people make greener choices?
As part of their sustainability plan, Pride Winnipeg‘s Festival at the Forks is expanding their composting program for 2018, and they’re still in need of lots of volunteers to help with their waste reduction team! All takeout containers and beverage cups are compostable this year, so a big part of this role will be helping the public sort their waste into landfill, recycling, and composting streams. Other duties may include emptying waste bins, transporting bags, and distributing portable ashtrays to attendees.
Shifts are available on both Saturday and Sunday, June 2nd and 3rd, and they welcome (and encourage) supervised youth to volunteer. Even if you can only do a partial shift, that’s okay. Register on your own or with a friend, and help make the 2018 Festival the greenest to date.
