Swedish university students Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin have come up with a possible alternative to bicycle helmets – The Hövding. The collar contains a sensor, helium, and an airbag. When the sensor detects you are heading for a crash landing, the airbag is released to cover your head like a large inflatable bike helmet. Watch a video about the product here.
