Venue: West Broadway Community Organization
608 Broadway Avenue Winnipeg

West Broadway Community Organization has an exciting workshop coming up for those of you that would like to see more pollinators in your garden, or just have an interest in these little creatures and would like to learn more about them.

Shannon Bahuaud of the pretty-much-amazing Urban Eatin’ Landscapes will be coming to West Broadway Community Organization to facilitate a workshop on gardening for pollinators. Material will cover an introduction to various species of pollinators and pollinator-friendly plants alike, and instructions for building homes and shelters for these beneficial insects. Information will cover both indigenous and exotic species, as well as methods of habitat creation suitable for both smaller and larger spaces.

WHEN: Thursday, August 10th5:30-7:00pm.
WHERE: 608 Broadway Ave.
COST: Free! (though plants are for sale if you’re keen to get started on your pollinator garden right away!)
A note from the garden co-ordinator:
My intention is to make indigenous plants known for attracting pollinators available for sale that evening, but specifics in terms of cost and species will depend upon how many people are ordering in advance. Prices will likely run between $5-$7 dollars per plant, all of which are perennials grown by Prairie Originals. If this is of interest to you, please let me know as soon as possible– if enough people are wanting to pursue this, we can absolutely make the bulk order and trip down that way for pick-up a possibility. If you would like to buy plants, please register on the 7th at the absolute latest, though preferably earlier. Please note that space is limited, so if it is your intention to attend without purchasing plants, it is likely still prudent to get in touch at your earliest convenience.
TO REGISTER: call 204-774-7201 ext 4 or email gardens@westbroadway.mb.ca
