Join walk leader Brian Pincott on a guided walking adventure to Dicover West Broadway. The 2 hour tour will have participants wandering West Broadway experiencing this wonderful, diverse community. The tour provides an opportunity to see the great things that make this neighbourhood special: community gardens, a wide mix of housing, vibrant community centre, shopping (& the best cocktail bar in the city!), a good urban corridor and a not-so-good urban corridor.

Brian is a veteran Calgary Jane’s Walk Leader and brings this experience to this new walk in Winnipeg. The eclectic nature of the community opens the discussion of what a mixed use, mixed income, urban neighbourhood looks like and what are the good things we can have more of?

The walk starts at the open space on Balmoral Street, between Broadway and Granite. Walk Leader will have a purple Jane’s Walk umbrella.

There won’t be any formal stops on the walk through West Broadway, but it will include looking at the Assiniboine River, community gardens, shops, community centre, and exploring the streetscape.

The route runs along 2 busy streets and some of the sidewalks are in worse condition than others. Tour will be in English but leader can answer and discuss in French as well.
