Celebrate Compost Awareness Week with us by levelling-up your compost!

Join guest speaker Fernand Saurette, retired Universite de St-Boniface professor and Master Composter, for this practical half-hour workshop that will walk you through how to make and use compost tea. Compost tea can be made from outdoor compost or vermicompost, and is full of nutrients and microbial activity that benefits plants. Not only is it a natural fertilizer for indoor and outdoor plants, but it can even have antifungal and disease-suppressing properties! If you want a healthier garden this year or you’re a houseplant enthusiast, this session will help you take your growing game to the next level. Fern’s formal training is in fish biology, and he spent several field seasons in the Arctic. He is recently retired from teaching biology and anatomy at the Saint-Boniface University. His other interests include collecting fossils for museums, beekeeping and sculpting in clay.
