Commuter Challenge 2024 – Prize List

Commuter Challenge 2024 is right around the corner, which means it’s time to get everyone excited with some awesome prizes!

Log your sustainable and active KMs online at www.commuterchallenge.ca
Use the GoManitoba website and download the CommuteTracker app to log your trips for more chances to win
Post pictures and videos to social media using the hashtag #CommuterChallengeMB

Check out each of the prize categories to see how you can qualify for as many prizes as possible!

Grand Prizes

Two participants registered as individuals, in workplaces or in teams have the chance to win one grand prize if they log in the top 10% of total kilometres for Manitoba AND log sustainable commutes at least 4/7 of the days.

Gold Grand Prize: Annual bus pass sponsored by Winnipeg Transit + two day passes sponsored by the WAG-Qaumajug
Silver Grand Prize: Two any-day vouchers sponsored by Winnipeg Folk Fest + two day passes sponsored by the WAG-Qaumajug

Individual Participant Prizes

Participate as an individual (or unaffiliated person) for a chance to win this category. Two individuals who log in the top 25% of total kilometres for the week will be randomly selected for one of the following prizes:

Annual family membership sponsored by Fort Whyte Alive (valued at $130) + two day passes sponsored by the WAG-Qaumajug
$100 gift card purchased from Jardins St-Leon Gardens + two day passes sponsored by the WAG-Qaumajug

Team Prizes

Log kilometres as a part of a team and be entered to win. Teams can be groups of friends, coworkers, faith groups, and/or family. Only those teams with 2-5 persons are eligible. One of the teams that logs in the top 25% of total kilometres AND logs sustainable commutes for 4/7 of the challenge days will receive the following:

5 day passes sponsored by the WAG-Qaumajug (valued at $90)
4 free gaming passes sponsored by Across The Board Cafe (valued at $40) + $100 gift card to enjoy food and beverage while playing

Workplace Prizes

All workplaces taking part in the Commuter Challenge have a chance to win! All workplaces in the top 25% of overall employee participation rate will be entered into a random draw where one winning team will be selected to receive all of the following:

10 family day passes sponsored by Fort Whyte Alive (valued at $480)
15 day passes sponsored by the WAG-Qaumajug (valued at $270)
Private Trivia Show sponsored and hosted by Tremendous Trivia Manitoba (valued at $400-500) – additional prizes provided to multiple winning teams! (Includes a $25 gift certificate sponsored by St. Norbert Farmer’s Market)
Courtesy Bike Blender rental provided by Green Action Centre (valued at $300)

“Work from Home Winner” Prizes

Efficiently working from home or otherwise telecommuting allows you to log your in-lieu of kilometres to work. All participants have a chance to win a prize if they log commutes in this category. Two winners will be chosen for the following prizes:

“Walking Warrior” Prizes

Everyone who logs their essential commute walks during the week has a chance to win this prize. Two winners will be chosen for the following prizes:

$50 Gift Card sponsored by Nonsuch Brewing + two day pass sponsored by the WAG-Quamajug

“Cycling Superstar” Prizes

Ride your bike to work, to the grocery store, or to bring the kids to school during Commuter Challenge week and log your kilometres. Everyone who logs their essential biking commutes during the week has a change to win! Two winners will be chosen for the following prizes:

“Transit Trooper” Prizes

Ride the bus during Commuter Challenge week and log your kilometres. Everyone who logs their essential bus rides has a chance to win! Two winners will be chosen for the following prizes:

Summer Reading Package sponsored by Great Plains Press (valued at $70) + two day passes sponsored by the WAG-Qaumajug
Movie Night Out for 2 sponsored by Cinematheque (valued at $50) + two day passes sponsored by the WAG-Qaumajug

“Go Manitoba Guru” Prizes

In addition to using commuterchallenge.ca, log all of your trips with GoManitoba throughout the Commuter Challenge week to connect with walking, cycling, and/or busing mentors. All participants have an opportunity to receive one of our two available prizes:

“Beyond Winnipeg” Prizes

Make sustainable commutes and trips during Commuter Challenge week and log your kilometres. Everyone who participates and lives outside of Winnipeg has a chance to win.

3 credit Audiobook bundle purchased from Libro.fm ($60 value) – Create your account today so that a part of your purchase goes to a local bookstore of your choice!
$50 dollar digital gift card of your choice – preferably to a local small business!

Kilometres saved with a bus, carpool or walking are adjusted to approximate biking distances per hour to even out the competition based on total hours. We will do our best to make prize adjustments for persons across the province. If something doesn’t work for a winner, we will simply find them something that does. (Please note: Prizes may be subject to change.)
