Last fall was a flurry of new hires here at Green Action Centre. Openings don’t come up all that often, so it’s exciting to open up our programs to fresh eyes.
First, we bid a fond farewell and thank you to Amanda Kinden, whose tasty venture Oh Doughnuts is already so crazy popular she had to leave. We sorely miss those delicious test donuts that she regularly brought to the office, though lucky for us, she still visits occasionally. Whew!
Turns out her job at Green Action Centre was so big, we split it into two. A hearty welcome to Becky Block, our new Living Green Living Well coordinator, and to Jaret Olford, our 2015 Commuter Challenge and Jack Frost Challenge coordinator.
We also wished best wishes (and sleep!) to Jessie Klassen while she takes an eight month maternity leave to care for our littlest new member, Henry (born last Saturday). Congrats!
Filling Jessie’s shoes in the Workplace Commuter Options program, we warmly welcome Mel Marginet. Joining her is someone familiar to many from his past work with Green Action Centre; from our backyard composting program to the tremendous amount of volunteer work he does around commuter cycling in Winnipeg, Dave Elmore is back with us. Dave has returned part-time, and will focus on GoHappy, the consulting services side of the Workplace Commuter Options program.
