Green Action Centre lists priorities for a greener Winnipeg

The current municipal election campaign is an opportunity for Manitobans to put the environment on the public agenda. Green Action Centre encourages citizens across the province to ask all candidates for mayor/ reeve and council what they will do to make their communities greener.

Climate Change and Copenhagen
In December 2009, the leaders of nations from around the world met in Copenhagen, Denmark to discuss climate change and negotiate a follow up treaty to the Kyoto Protocol. Prior to the meeting, Green Action Centre sent a letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper asking him to take steps to reduce Canada’s contribution to climate change.
