Winnipeggers!
As you may know, the report for Winnipeg’s two-year composting pilot was presented to the Standing Policy Committee for Water, Waste & Environment at their meeting last Friday. Good news, the motion was passed and a city-wide composting program for Winnipeg got its first round of thumbs up! 👍
We really want to keep up the pressure and show the Executive Policy Committee (EPC) and City Council that Winnipeggers want and need a city-wide compost collection! The report will be presented to EPC at their meeting this upcoming Thursday, September 21st. If it is passed by EPC, then the motion will move onto City Council for a final vote.
We are hoping to have the public show their support for city-wide composting before their upcoming meeting next Thursday. You can register to speak as a delegate, contribute a written submission, and/or send an email through our email support campaign!
