Now that spring has settled in and we’re almost to the official start of summer, there really is no excuse to not get out and ride your bike or walk outside.
This year for Clean Air Day, I spent the morning with the Grade 3 and 4 class of Rosser Elementary School. In the past, they would send me photos of their event in which they do an 8km bike ride from Grosse Isle back to Rosser, Manitoba and I would just marvel at all the fantastic photos they would send me with so many smiling faces. This year, I wanted to make sure I joined them for their 8th annual ride. From start to finish, it was a ton of fun and we had the BEST weather for the ride too. The students were so happy to be out riding their bikes with their friends and the other parents and teachers who joined in had a blast too. A huge thank you to Rosser School for letting me come by and I hope everyone’s Clean Air Day was just as great.
We can’t forget about prizes though..What’s a celebration without some cool giveaways.
This year’s Clean Air Day prizes were generously donated by Mountain Equipment Co-op, Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI), Olympia Cycle and Ski, Healthy Schools in motion, and The Winnipeg Jets!
Schools that participated in Clean Air Day and returned their tally sheets were entered, and by random draw, this year’s lucky schools are:
St Emile School
Ecole West Park School
Ecole Opasquia School
Thank you to all the schools who registered and participated and we hope to see you back again for International Walk to School Month (IWALK) in October! It’s never too late to register here: Register for IWALK.
Happy Walking!
