Neepin is a proud member of Misipawistik Cree Nation. Having experienced systemic challenges, she is dedicated to helping First Nations in their pursuit of sovereignty to safeguard their lands and the health of their people. While pursuing an environmental studies degree at the University of Winnipeg, Neepin has spent the last two summers tree-planting in Ontario, and the previous six summers with the Outland Youth Employment Program (OYEP). OYEP is a land-based education program that provides Indigenous youth with hands-on training and employment opportunities. When she’s not working on her passions, Neepin enjoys running, reading, or beading in her leisure time.
