Born and raised in Winnipeg, Claudia has always had a passion for sustainability and community-based changes. She graduated from the University of Manitoba in the spring of 2025 with a Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies and a Minor in Geography. Alongside her interest in environmentalism, she’s always been fascinated by human geography and the ways in which people interact with places, systems, and each other. The intersection of social and environmental systems is where she finds the most purpose and possibility.
In the summer of 2024, she had the opportunity to work for an environmental non-profit as part of a work placement through the University of Manitoba. It was there that she realized how fulfilling community-based environmental non-profit work truly can be. She is a firm believer that meaningful change happens when people feel connected to their every day world. After all, the most impactful changes many of us will make in our lives will be at the community level.
In her free time, Claudia enjoys thrifting, going on walks, traveling, and exploring the nightlife Winnipeg has to offer.
