Laura (she/her) is a researcher, policy analyst, and community organizer with over a decade of experience working to advance climate justice. Prior to joining Manitoba’s Climate Action Team, Laura worked as a Policy Advisor with the International Institute for Sustainable Development, focused on strengthening federal climate and energy policy in Canada. Laura holds a Masters in Indigenous Governance from the University of Winnipeg, through which she had the opportunity to work with Knowledge Keepers and community members at the Turtle Lodge and across the prairies documenting Indigenous perspectives on and solutions to the climate crisis. She also received a BSc in Biology from McGill. Outside of work, Laura enjoys making documentary films, gardening, swing dancing, soccer playing, and supporting grassroots movements.
