Participating can be as simple as promoting walking (or wheeling or biking) through school announcements, in-class activities, planning a walk with your school or family, or coming to a Walktober event.

When you register, you’ll receive a full kit of activities and access to workshops. The programming will work from the classroom or at home!

Kilometre Tracking Sheet

To prepare for Walktober, print the Kilometre Tracking Sheet in English or French to engage students in tracking their route to school or tally up the distances you do as a group. While it’s called Walktober, You can count any active way of getting from A to B – hopping, walking, biking, skateboarding, wheeling, or scootering! Participate in a way that works for you and your students, whether it’s one day, one day each week, or the entire month. This month also offers you as educators a great opportunity to schedule walks with your class, chat about environmental changes students may have noticed and talk about the importance of active travel!
