Green Action Centre and its Board of Directors are pleased to announce Josep Seras Gubert as Green Action Centre’s next Executive Director.

Josep comes to the position having served as GAC’s Sustainability Projects Coordinator since 2020. He is an innovative and visionary team player and multi-disciplinary project manager with 25 years of experience ranging from product design to creativity in education and the eco-movement. He is always keen to partner with like-minded organizations, which helps all of us reframe our understanding of how to live on the planet. Josep has a special interest in educating kids in their exploration of the natural cycles around them and their role in preserving Mother Nature. Having worked with organizations such as Evergreen Brickworks and Earthbound Kids, he has a deep-seated belief that through education and innovation we can work together to make a better world.

We are delighted that Josep will be the leader of our organization and share his greetings here:

“As I step into this new position, I am incredibly grateful and humbled with the opportunity to lead Green Action Centre as the new Executive Director. I am feeling extremely honoured by the Board of Directors for trusting me, and I’m going to put all my energy and passion into this new role. I want to especially thank Beth for her fabulous and generous way of leading us through these past few months.

I am truly aware of the current challenges and opportunities facing our organization and the communities we serve. But I also know how eager we are at Green Action Centre for a more sustainable and equitable future for all Manitobans. That’s why I have no doubt that with the professionalism and enthusiasm of the Green Action Centre team, we will succeed in this new adventure. Teamwork is the answer and we are an amazing team. To everyone who wants to join us: I can’t wait to work with all of you, and I’m 100% sure we are going to do great things together!”

Josep’s official first day as Executive Director is January 9th. He will be working directly with Beth McKechnie, staff, and the Board of Directors to ensure a smooth and effective transition.

On behalf of our Board of Directors, we greatly look forward to working with Josep and having him lead GAC in the months and years ahead. His energy and positivity is infectious, and we believe he will be a great leader for the organization.

I would also like to thank Beth for stepping up to take on the Interim role and for her tireless efforts in recent months during the transition period and as we’ve worked toward this.
