Register your family, class, or entire school for some outdoor winter fun! This could include walking, playing, building snow forts, biking, running, skating, cross-country skiing, snow sculptures, snowshoeing, tobogganing, & more. Teams are encouraged to log 130 kms of outdoor activities.

How to Participate

Sign up your family, class, or school to participate in Jack Frost Challenge for Kids!

There are prizes for bingo card participants, the child with the most kilometres, family with the most kilometres, and classroom with the most kilometres.

Plan Jack Frost

It’s time to explore your own backyard!

The Bingo Card include mini-challenges you can check off along your journey to reach 130 km.

By participating you can be entered to win special prizes, and post on social media to increase your chances. Just check off as many challenges as you can and make a social media post using the hashtag #SayFreezeMBKids – one prize entry per post! Complete the entire sheet and send us proof for 5 additional entries.

The goal is for your team to complete 130 kms of outdoor activity! In situations where kilometers traveled aren’t as clear (such as fort building), you can log 10 minutes of play as 1 km.

FAQs

Jack Frost Challenge for Kids is specifically intended for kids under 14 years of age. Although associated with the larger Jack Frost Challenge, Jack Frost Challenge for Kids is run by our Active and Safe Routes to School team, and people signing up for the kid’s challenge receive information about bonus activities and events.

In situations where kilometers traveled aren’t as clear (such as fort building), you can log 10 minutes of play as 1 km.

Prizes will be distributed for:

  • Most kilometres (family)
  • Most Kilometres (Classroom)
  • Bingo card winner

Certificates will be distributed for:

  • Most Kilometres classroom

* Children must be under 14 years of age. Kids 15 and up can register for the larger Jack Frost Challenge here. Kilometres can be tracked through the log sheet and must be submitted to asrts@greenactioncentre.ca to be eligible to win
