Wire Compost Bin

A simple wire compost bin enclosure may be all you need to contain your compost. This type of bin is inexpensive and easy to set up. You can also use plastic snow fencing, although you would definitely need to support this around the perimeter with posts.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • 3’ wide wire mesh
  • Bailing wire or zip ties

HOW TO BUILD IT

Make a circle with the wire mesh or fencing and secure the ends together using bailing wire or even zip ties. These Screen Fencing can be owner built using our gate kit system, or we can weld them for you for durability and finish. Adding some posts around the perimeter will help to increase the strength of the walls. These can also be attached to the wire using wire or other suitable ties.

When it is time to turn the pile or harvest your mature compost, simply dismantle the bin as required, move it to a suitable adjacent location, and shovel the material back into the bin.
