Green Living Resources

So sad to see you go…

Spring is a promising time. Rains cleanse. The sun shines warmly. Tulips and crocuses begin to poke through the ashen snow cover. It’s a time of growth and change. Migration.

We are experiencing our own cycle of change at Green Action Centre this season. Over the winter we’ve had the great fortune to work with some wonderful interns and volunteers who are all moving onwards to summer adventures and their next steps.

Laura Durling, an intern through the YMCA’s Post-Secondary Youth Eco-Internship Program (PSYEIP) jetted down-under last week for a couple of months of adventure with the kiwi’s and koala’s. Ian Kniel, our winter Katimavik participant has travelled with his group to Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador for his next placement. They will both be missed tremendously as they contributed greatly to the Active and Safe Routes to School and Composing Programs at Green Action Centre.

We are fortunate enough to still be graced with the presence of Lea Grzenda (PSYEIP Intern) and Marissa Borgford (volunteer) for another few weeks before they move onto their summer plans and future adventures. Their work with the Active and Safe Routes to School Program has been a life saver!

And finally, we are very sad to see Stephanie Fulford, coordinator of the Manitoba Student Transportation Network and long-time staff member of Green Action Centre go, but we are excited to see what she will do next! Her work, energy, passion, and commitment to Green Action Centre and sustainable transportation has shaped our organization and the foundation of active transportation in Manitoba.

Good luck to all of you in your future endeavours!
