One Winnipeg school was blessed with a bit warmer winter temperatures yesterday to celebrate Winter Walk Day in Canada! On February 6th, 2013, Minnetonka School gathered their Kindergarten to Grade 8 students for a quick assembly on the event and how to dress for winter and then they headed out for a community walk in their neighborhood. Groups of students, with a mix from all grades, had a great time enjoying the winter weather and bright prairie sun at the end of the school day.
Students and staff had so much fun at the event, that they decided to continue every Friday for Walk/Run sessions in preparation for the Manitoba Marathon! Great work, Minnetonka School!
