Less Waste – More Resources: public forum

A Forum on Options for Winnipeg’s New Waste Management Strategy

Click here to download the event posterWinnipeg is currently diverting only 17% of residential waste from landfill sites, and the diversion rate for industrial and commercial waste is even lower in Manitoba. The city is developing the Garbage and Recycling Master Plan that will establish a long-term approach for the management of the municipal waste stream. Now is the time to set a new course for the future.

Darryl Drohomerski, Manager of Solid Waste Services with the City of Winnipeg, and Craig Pats, an Accounts Manager with Waste Management Inc, will look at the options for waste diversion from the standpoints of the city and of industry respectively. They will take questions and comments from two environmentalists and from you the public.
