Family Winter Cycling Day a success

Friday, February 14th, 2014 our Active & Safe Routes to School program and our friends at MEC had a fun-filled day with families looking to try winter cycling!  In conjunction with the International Winter Cycling Conference, the Family Winter cycling Celebration was held at The Forks Canopy and included a workshop, a winter River Trail ride, hot cocoa and S’mores by the bonfire.

Kids and their parents came by to learn how to cycle, with special emphasis put on winter riding.  The result was some tired but very happy riders! Green Action Centre’s bike safety course helped prepare and test the kids for cycling in winter conditions, and then they went off to try their new skills on the Red River Mutual trail.  Overall, everyone had a great time and we hope you give winter cycling a try too.  Happy trails!
