Green Living Resources

Another successful Clean Air Day!

Clean Air Day took place this year on June 6th with great weather and enthusiastic youth all over Manitoba, walking and biking to school! Green Action Centre walked with David Livingstone School that morning and handed out some prizes of flashing lights from MPI to everyone walking or biking. Everyone was excited to participate and receive recognition for their active modes of travel.

Another school who enjoyed their Clean Air Day was Rosser School in Rosser, Manitoba. The grade 3 and 4 class rode their bikes 8 kilometers from the middle school in Grosse Isle back to their school in Rosser! They stopped along the way to find a geocache and take some great pictures of their trip. Congrats to Rosser School for planning an excellent Clean Air Day!

Finally, two schools have been selected as the winners for Clean Air Day 2012: Strathmillan School in Winnipeg, and Niverville Elementary in Niverville, Manitoba. Thank you to all the schools that participated and we hope to see you all again in October for International Walk to School Month! If you haven’t already registered, please do so here.

Also, a big thank you to all our event prize donors: Mountain Equipment Co-op, Bikes&Beyond, MPI and Manitoba Healthy Schools in Motion!
