It’s that time of year again! Walktober is right around the corner and we are excited to get back in touch with students, teachers, administrators and parents for another year of programming.

Walktober focuses on creating healthy routines of active transportation within the community. Walktober has a little of something for everyone with activities such as a scavenger hunt, active books on safe transportation methods and our in person walkabouts. Walktober programming is available for everyone in Manitoba via our registration form.

Walkabouts will also be taking place this year at schools in the Winnipeg area! Students will have the opportunity to navigate their community and identify hazards within it. Our programming is targeted towards grades 3-6 students. This year we are adding an additional focus towards the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) during our walkabouts/walk audits. Our programming will be taking place outside with COVID safety measures in place for the well being of our staff and the students. Spaces are limited for the scheduled Walkabouts, so please register as soon as possible!

Please note that we are only able to schedule Walkabouts/Walk Audits within the Winnipeg region. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to attend every school/classroom who signs up.

If you have any questions, you can email our Sustainable Transportation Coordinator,  Mr. Cameron Mackay, at cameron@greenactioncentre or complete the open question section within the Walktober 2021 Registration form at the bottom.

We look forward to connecting with you all soon!

Stay safe and happy fall!
