Hello Climate Champion,
We are pleased to be hosting the Power of Story with Cate Friesen from the Story Source. The power of story is a crucial element in igniting climate action. You have been identified as an individual who is interested in and/or could benefit from Power of Story: Building capacity through training, mentoring and story production.
Cost: Training costs are being covered by the Climate Action Team
Opportunity: Power of Story Training, empowering individuals and groups to engage in climate change conversations and solutions through sharing their climate story. Training will include hands on practice and take away tools.
Workshop content:
- Theory and tools of a narrative approach to move others to action
- The essential elements of a powerful story.
- Crafting your own climate story and the story of your work (organization)
- Listening techniques and powerful questions to connect to others across divides
- Media tips and training
This training is brought to you by the Climate Action Team, a coalition of Manitoba community organizations that seek to foster conversations about climate change, educate, and lead people to act – both in terms of mitigating our impacts as well as preparing for a changing climate due to global warming. Partners are Green Action Centre, Climate Change Connection, Wilderness Committee – Manitoba, the Manitoba Energy Justice Coalition, and the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives-Manitoba office.
If you would like to make a donation to help offset costs and support the Climate Action Team’s work, please feel free to donate directly to any of the partner organizations, citing “Climate Action Team”. *Charitable tax receipts will be issued for donations from all organizations with exception of the Manitoba Energy Justice Coalition.
