The Jack Frost Challenge is a free, week-long challenge for ALL Manitobans.

Of course this year might have to look (a bit) different from previous years, but we are super excited to be hosting the TENTH annual challenge!

The challenge connects personal and environmental health by encouraging participants to walk, run, bike, ice skate, snowshoe, cross-country ski, and more during the week of February 7-13, 2021. We believe this year has the potential to be bigger than ever despite covid-19, this event is here to encourage you to get active (safely) and develop new healthy habits you can continue throughout the year!

Gather a team of 1-5 family members, friends, or co-workers to complete 130 collective kilometres of outdoor activities. Please note that your team doesn’t mean you are doing the activities physically together, this event will be a great way to get active, reconnect with a little friendly competition, compare activities and try to win great prizes for your team “bubble”! Challenge your team members to try new outdoor activities, try to outscore each others km’s, and even make it a workplace challenge for team building virtually!

At Green Action Centre, we want to encourage the choice of active and sustainable transportation methods all year-round. The aim of The Jack Frost Challenge is to get Manitobans moving, whether it be to work, to school, or for pleasure – we want everyone moving in winter.

Registration will be open in the new year.

Call up your friends, family, and co-workers to get involved, get outside and have some FUN this winter! ❄️
