Read the contest rules and guidelines

This year, Active & Safe Routes to School is celebrating Bike to School Month (May 4 – June 3) and Clean Air Day (June 3) to see how many students can walk, bike, scooter and in-line skate to school during the month. Travelling by car is the largest single source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Manitoba leading to Climate Change and affecting our air quality. Also, as half of all children in Canada are driven to and from school each day, physical inactivity and child health are becoming serious concerns

The poster contest is a way to get students thinking and drawing about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and making changes that benefit the environment.

The grand prize winning poster will be used as the main promotional image for both Bike to School Month and Clean Air Day from May 4 – June 3, 2015.

The winning school will receive a framed copy of their poster to put up at school at a special presentation ceremony. The winner and runners up will receive recognition in Off on the Right Foot, the ASRTS newsletter in Manitoba and on our website!

All Manitoba elementary and middle school-aged students are eligible to enter.

Don’t forget to REGISTER your school for the Spring events, and to get a copy of the new ASRTS Handbook either!
