Preferential Parking for Carpoolers

(Image: Edmonton LRT)

Looking for a simple additional incentive to encourage carpooling at your workplace? Give carpoolers priority parking close to the door. This will become a very appealing incentive to carpool when it reaches -30 C!

Enforcement can also be easy, as fellow carpoolers will be your eyes on the ground if the spaces are being misused.

You will need:

  • Several durable signs and signposts indicating reserved parking for carpools.
  • Permission to post the signs in front of a few choice parking spaces.
  • An email or posters letting employees know what these parking spaces are all about and how they can get one!

Other great programs and incentives to encourage carpooling include carpool matching and an Emergency Ride Home program.
