Green Living Resources

Food

Our food choices directly affect our health and the health of our planet. Through food, we are connected to each other, our cultures, and to the natural world around us. Too often though, supermarkets, convenience stores and fast food distance us from this important web of life.

We seldom consider how food is produced, where it comes from and how it shapes our bodies. We never see greenhouse gas emissions counted on the label of a soup can. Genetically engineered products sit side by side on the shelves next their organic and pesticide-free cousins.

By understanding and promoting sustainable food sources, we can improve our personal, family and planet’s well-being. To help you make the decisions you need, Green Action Centre provides resources on local food sources, recipes, ways you can take action, and links on further information.
