Beverage Container Recycling-Getting to 75% and Beyond

In "Go Green" Bottle Recycling Depot in VancouverMay 2010, Green Action Centre (then called Resource Conservation Manitoba) presented its views on a proposal before Winnipeg City Council on the creation of municipal recycling depots. While welcoming Council’s interest in increasing recovery and recycling of beverage containers, Green Action Centre called for a comprehensive approach to waste issues, including composting of organics, programs for the institutional and commercial sector, and an integrated waste reduction plan.
