We’re pleased to announce the publication of our new ON SITE Composting Guide. This accessible how-to guide features artwork contributed by Kara Hummelt, one of 220 graduates of our Master Composter Course, which has generated 8,000 community volunteer hours since 2004.

The ON SITE Multi-Family Composting pilot project provides all the necessary tools and resources for apartment and condo dwellers to begin composting at home, and the guide was developed to explain community composting using a triple-bin system. Program participants also benefit from site visits to monitor progress, a tailored presentation in their neighbourhood, and ongoing access to our Compost Info Line.

The pilot project was developed in response to ongoing delays regarding a municipal green bin program, and the lack of waste reduction options for residents in multi-unit dwellings. In less than a year, ON SITE has attracted a wait list of buildings that are interested in participating. CTV News captured our most recent installation at twin condos in the heart of Winnipeg.

All are welcome to attend our next composting presentation offered through ON SITE:
June 22, 2017 from 6:30-8:00pm at Westwood Library
