International Walk to School Day is October 4th, 2017
International Walk to School Week is October 2nd-6th, 2017
International Walk to School Month (“IWALK”) gives schools a chance to promote active transportation to students over a day, a week, or the entire month of October.
IWALK is a chance to celebrate our environment by keeping our air clean, to share walking safety skills with children, to bring safety to our neighbourhoods and reduce crime, to address traffic congestion, pollution and speed around our schools, and to spend valuable time with one another.
Thousands of Manitoba school children will join millions of others from over 43 countries to celebrate walking to school this October for International Walk to School Month. Join the celebration!
Sign up your school to receive posters, stickers, and other incentives for IWALK 2017. Registration takes only minutes, and this fall, you can plan IWALK activities that fit with your school’s schedule. Green Action Centre will provide you with information, resources, and event suggestions (and prizes to win). Your school just has to participate!
