The Compost Winnipeg Downtown Challenge was a friendly waste diversion competition for businesses in the downtown area that ran from April 22nd until May 7th.

The Challenge attracted twenty-two participating locations and diverted 2,804 pounds of organic waste from the landfill, bringing Compost Winnipeg’s total organic collections to 17,315 pounds since they began in August.

And the 2016 winners are…

Most Enthusiastic Team – HTFC Planning and Design
Best Compost Champion – Ryan Epp of ft3
Heavyweight Champion – University of Manitoba Dining Services (Bannatyne Campus)
Draw Prize – Alara Matsyk of Prairie Architects
