Climate Change and Energy

Our climate is changing. The impacts are being felt around the globe. A changing climate impacts virtually all of the ecological processes that drive our planet — atmosphere, oceans, fresh water, landforms, heat distribution, weather, and more.  Systems on which human communities depend for agriculture, drinking water, energy, transportation, and raw materials will be affected. Local communities will have to accommodate these changes.

Climate change is a hot topic these days, but through personal actions we can all help to make a global difference and create a movement to combat climate change, leaving a safe, healthy environment for future generations.

Check out our resources below to learn about climate change and how you can take steps to reduce your greenhouse gas emissions! You will also find policy briefs and publications prepared by, and for, Green Action Centre.

Pay as you drive

Car drivers in Manitoba enjoy some of the lowest insurance rates in Canada. However, the way we pay for our insurance may encourage us to drive more than we need to.
