GoManitoba’s goal is to bring sustainable, healthy commuting options to all Manitobans. Its purpose is to ease travel by helping to facilitate carpools, promote public transit use where available, and match bike, bus and walk mentors with people looking to try out more sustainable modes but are not sure how.

You can now use GoManitoba to share a ride for one-time events!

*NOTE: There is a MASSIVE update for single trip matching coming from RideShark by the end of 2018. Keep your eyes peeled for this in the near future! These improvements are going to make finding a carpool or single-trip match even easier.

Use the Single Trip Matching feature of GoManitoba to find someone to share a ride to a one-time event, the airport, sports game, festival, concert, etc. By sharing a ride you can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution, demand for parking, traffic congestion, and overall time spent commuting, as well as save money (split gas, parking, etc.) and meet new people in your community!

Single Trip Matching

How does it work? Simply visit the Single Trip Matching section of www.GoManitoba.ca to search for a ride match. To do so, enter your origin, destination, travel dates, and trip preferences. You’ll be able to see if a similar trip has already been posted by another user along the same route, and if so, you can message them to organize a ride. Or, post a new trip by clicking the green ‘Post a Trip’ button and follow the on-screen instructions to put a call out for someone to find and message you.

If you are willing to be a driver, you’ll be asked for details regarding the make and model of your vehicle and how many seats you have available to share, as well as the suggested price to charge per seat (based on federal guidelines). If you are only interested in being a passenger, you will be asked how much you are willing to spend (with a suggested price based on federal guidelines).
