In a recent white paper, Avison Young outlines three main arguments for corporations to reduce the number of employees driving their private vehicle to work. Nutshell version: reduced parking costs for corporation and employee; improved employee quality of life; and better local air quality.

They note that most employees do not like to commute and are looking for positions that don’t require a long drive to and from work.

Capping it off are three strategies to minimize the use of personal vehicles: implement an employee commuting benefits program; support a mobile work environment; and relocate to office space within a transit-oriented development (TOD).
