jessiekNo ifs, ands or buts about it – we are all going to miss Jessie a lot!

Jessie recently accepted a position as Transportation Planner at the University of Manitoba, after working on some major transportation planning projects with them as part of the workplace commuter consulting she did with us here at Green Action Centre.

Seems like they were impressed with her work!

Though we’re sad to see her go, we’re thrilled for her to have this new opportunity to continue making positive environmental changes at the U of M, and look forward to any and all opportunities to work together in the future.

Jessie was a co-coordinator of the Workplace Commuter Options program since 2007.  She was inspired to help other people get to work sustainably after giving it a try herself.  Prior to holding this position, Jessie assisted with Phase 1 of the Community-Based Travel Marketing project and the Backyard Composting Program with Green Action Centre.  She has sat on the Downtown BIZ Transportation Committee, Ciclovia organizing committee, and the Workplace Wellness Alliance.  Jessie has an Undergraduate Degree in Environment and Human Health from Queen’s University (2005), a Certificate in Sustainable Building Design and Construction from Fleming College (2005), and a Masters in Interdisciplinary Studies through Royal Roads University. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Jessie has always been a fount of positive energy, and her presence in the office was always a pleasure.

We wish Jessie all the best in her new position, and know that the University of Manitoba has made a great choice in making her a part of their team!

Much love,

-The GA Centre Team
