Here’s a list of what has been included at the outdoor Clean Air Day event in the past.
Health Canada Air Quality Station
Health Canada will be asking skill testing questions on air quality! Spin their Wheel and have a chance to win a prize!
Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society MB
Participate in a scavenger hunt! Review how we use our senses to connect to a place, followed by a short breathing/grounding activity, and then explore a section of the park to find nature textures and features!
Green Actions Centre
Come make seed bombs with us! Students will get to put together their very own seed bomb to take home at the end of the day to plant in the garden, yard or flower bed!
Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre
Visit our wildlife education booth to discuss Manitoba Wildlife and Wildlife Rehabilitation with the help of two of our suprise wildlife ambassadors!
Motion Zone (Sport Manitoba)
Join this station to play games such as corn hole, safe axe throwing, ladder toss, giant connect 4, football kicking target and more!
Manitoba Council for International Cooperation
Visit the MCIC booth to answer some sustainable development goal trivia! Students can spin the wheel, then answer a trivia question about one of 17 sustainable development goals to win a prize!
Fireweed Co-op
Use a board that shows the growing season months and various vegetables and fruits to pin onto the board in the spot that corresponds with when that item is harvested. We’ll also have a diagram showing the components of healthy soil and why that’s important for clean air!
Bike Winnipeg
Join us in learning bike hand signals, racing in potato sack, and playing ladder toss!
Green Kids inc.
A found-object puppetry station, facilitated by two eco-drama instructors. Turn found objects into active transportation machines and create characters to demonstrate how awesome moving through town powered by people–fuel can be.
Art City
Build scrap birdhouses with Art City!
Manitoba Lung
Make your own pinwheel and enter a draw to win a free air outdoor monitor for your school. There will also be information on general lung health, radon, and youth smoking and vaping and prevention.
Waterlution
Join artist Claire Johnston in making a relaxing zentangle. This colaborative art project is based on traditional Metis geometric patterns.
