Its not often that we get to thank our politicians, but sometimes they do something courageous enough that it is worth showing some support.  On June 28, 2013, Conservation and Water Stewardship Minister Gord Mackintosh promised that Manitoba would introduce legislation during the next legislative session banning cosmetic pesticides for lawn use.  Despite a massive campaign from the chemical pesticide industry, Manitoba will soon join other provinces in protecting the health of our families, the environment and our pets.

However, the industry pressure is continuing.  This ban will only happen if Mackintosh hears from you that you will support this ban. Take a moment to send a short e-mail to Minister Mackintosh (link will open up your email with a quick message already included!): Click here to send your pesticide-ban email now!

Your email will also be sent to the PC leader Brian Pallister (brian.pallister@leg.gov.mb.ca), Health Minister Erin Selby (204-945-3731, minhlt@leg.gov.mb.ca) and the NDP Caucus (info@todaysndp.ca).
